For removing the cables, you need to remove the LCD unit from the laptop base firstly:
Please Refer to: Lenovo Thinkpad T420 T420i Disassembly Manuel.

1. Remove the LCD Bezel, just do it by your fingers, there is no screw.


2. Remove the Thinkpad T420 T420i LED board. Unscrew the screw and uplug the cable connector.






3. Remove the integrated camera. Unscrew tow screws and unplug the camera cable.


4. Remove the two screws securing the hinges, then release the LCD cable and wireless antenna cable.







5. Remove the four screws, then you can remove the LCD panel.


6. Turn the LCD panel over,  on the bottom, you can find the Lenovo Thinkpad T430 T430i LCD cable connector, tear the tape and uplug it.







7. Remove the two screws securing the right hinge, release the cables.


8. Remove the thinkpad T420 T420i LED and webcam cable.


Reverse the procedure to install the new Thinkpad T420 T420i LCD video cable.
