How to Replace / Remove Dell Inspiron 14V M4010 N4020 N4030 CPU Fan
First of all, turn off your Dell Inspiron 14V M4010 N4020 N4030 laptop. Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery. Close the display and turn the computer upside down.
1. Remove the Optical Disk Drive: Remove the screw that secures the optical-drive assembly to the computer base. Using a plastic scribe, push the notch to remove the optical drive from the optical-drive bay. Slide the optical-drive assembly out of the optical-drive compartment. 2. Removal the Hard Drive. Remove the two screws that secure the hard-drive assembly to the computer base. Slide the hard-drive assembly out of the hard-drive compartment. After that, remove the memory modules and keyboard. You can refer to How to Replace Dell Inspiron N4020 N4030 Keyboard. 3. Remove the six screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base. 4. Turn the computer over and open the display as far as possible. Then remove the five screws on the palm rest. 5. Disconnect the touch pad cable and the power button cable from the connectors on the system board. (If you want to disassemble the display, you need to do: Disconnect the antenna cables from the Mini-Card. Remove the screw that secures the Mini-Card to the connector on the I/O board. Lift the Mini-Card out of the I/O board connector.) 6. Starting at the right/left of the palm rest, use your fingers to separate the palm rest from the computer base. Then lift the palm rest off the computer base. 7. Disconnect the display cable from the connectors on the system board. 8. _Disconnect the speakers cable. Remove the three screws that secure the system board assembly to the computer base. 9. Lift the system board assembly to disconnect the connector on the system board from the connector on the I/O board. Turn the system board assembly over. 10. Remove the fan module. Disconnect the fan cable from the connector on the system board. In sequential order (indicated on the thermal cooling assembly), loosen the four captive screws that secure the assembly to the system board. Remove the four secrews on the fan, you can disassemble the fan from the heatsink. Reverse the procedure to install you new Dell Inspiron N4020 N4030 CPU Fan. |
