1. First of all, shut down your Lenovo Thinkpad T430 T430i. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery. Remove the SIM card and the ExpressCard blank bezel.

2. Removal steps of Serial Ultrabay Enhanced bay or blank bezel
Hold the bay lock latch in the unlocked position, and slide the bay eject latch in the arrow direction on the latch  . Then pull out the Serial Ultrabay Enhanced bay or the blank bezel.




3. Unplug the connectors of PCI Express Mini Card for wireless WAN and remove the screw securing the card, then remove the card.


Remove the Thinkpad T430 T430i keyboard. You can refer to this post:  How to Remove Lenovo Thinkpad T430 T430i keyboard

4. Remove the six screws which secure the keyboard bezel.






5. Gently unplug connectors of the wireless Lan cable and remove the screw securing the card, then remove the card..

6. Remove the two screws as shown, loosen the keyboard bezel by your fingers and lift it a little, uplug the FPC able. Remove the keyboard bezel.



7. Remove the speaker assembly. Unscrew the two screws and unplug the connector as shown.  You can remove the left speaker only if you just want to take the fan assembly out of the base.

8. Unplug the  Thinkpad T430 T430i fan cable and unscrew the four screws as per the order as shown, you can remove the fan assembly now. .

Reverse the procedure to install you new Thinkpad T430 T430i fan.

Notice: Before installing the new fan, please clean the old thermal paste and apply new.
