- Turn the Lenovo G550 laptop on and open the CMOS setup utility program. Set the CMOS screen to allow for the most updated BIOS, then save the program.

- Plug the new processor into the motherboard. Reattach the graphics card to the motherboard with screws. Secure the fan to the motherboard with screws. Plug the fan's electrical wire connector into the motherboard.
- Place the cover back over the bottom of the laptop. Secure the cover with the screws. Plug the battery pack into the bottom of the laptop. Turn the computer over so it sits right side up.
- Connect the power cord into the AC outlet on the side of the laptop, then plug the other end of the power cord into the electrical outlet.
